Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk DLC: Choosing the Right Terrarium Biome
Early in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you'll be asked to choose one of four Terrarium biomes to explore first. This prompt from Lacey may leave you wondering if your Blueberry Academy experience will be affected by your choice. Fortunately, we've got the answer.
What is the Terrarium in the Indigo Disk?
The Terrarium is the first location you visit after a brief introductory battle at Blueberry Academy. Located underwater, this space boasts special technology that recreates various environments, allowing a wide range of Pokémon to thrive.
Thanks to a mysterious orb, Pokémon in this area can Terastallize, a feature previously exclusive to Paldea. Access to the Terrarium is granted through the front gates at Blueberry Academy as part of your tour with Lacey.
Which Terrarium Biome Should You Explore First?
There are four biomes to choose from, but don't worry – your storyline won't be affected by your selection. Different Pokémon inhabit each area due to its unique climate, so it's worth knowing what each biome offers for future exploration and Shiny hunting purposes. The biomes are:
- Subtropical Savanna Biome
- Tropical Coastal Biome
- Craggy Canyon Biome
- Snowy Polar Biome
Regardless of your chosen biome, you'll end up heading to class in the Coastal Biome. It's worth noting that this question seems more like a way for Lacey to get to know you, rather than a crucial plot point. Feel free to choose any biome that catches your attention!
How to Upgrade Terrarium Biomes
While your initial biome choice might not matter, the Terrarium Biomes can be upgraded to include new wild Pokémon. To access these upgrades, progress through the DLC until you meet up with Carmine and gain access to the League Club Room. From there, use the PC to check the Support Board for requests that require BP donations.
The Terrarium Biome upgrades will be four separate requests by the Terrarium Club, each asking for a 3,000 BP donation to boost biodiversity. Each upgrade will add a new set of wild starter Pokémon to its respective biome:
