Pokemon GO Lustrous Odyssey Event: What to Expect in January 2024

Niantic is starting the new year with a bang, introducing the highly anticipated Lustrous Odyssey event in Pokemon GO. Set to kick off on Saturday, January 6, 2024, this exciting event promises an array of thrilling activities, exclusive rewards, and new Pokemon to capture.

Event Schedule: January 6 - January 10, 2024

The Lustrous Odyssey event will take place from January 6, 2024, at 10 AM local time, and run through January 10, 2024, at 8 PM local time.

Dusk Form Lycanroc Makes Its Debut

This event will witness the debut of Dusk Form Lycanroc, an exclusive new form of Lycanroc. Additionally, trainers can also expect to encounter Shiny Dusk Form Lycanroc. Rockruff from eggs or wild encounters during the event may evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc instead of its Midday Form or Midnight Form.

Exclusive Event Bonuses

Throughout the Lustrous Odyssey event, trainers can look forward to the following bonuses:

• Buddy Pokemon will bring souvenirs and presents more frequently
• Buddy Pokemon will remain on the map longer after being fed berries or Poffins
• Rockruff from Adventure Sync rewards during the Timeless Travels season will have a chance to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc

Featured Wild Encounter Pokemon

Several Pokemon will be featured during the Lustrous Odyssey event, with increased spawn rates for:

• Gastly
• Eevee
• Spinarak
• Sunkern
• Teddiursa
• Lunatone
• Solrock
• Yungoos
• Fomantis
• Morelull

Additionally, Umbreon and Espeon will have a less frequent but still boosted chance of appearing in the wild.

Featured Raid Pokemon

Raids will also receive a boost, with the following Pokemon making appearances:

One-Star Raids:

• Hisuian Growlithe
• Rhyhorn
• Hisuian Sneasel
• Rockruff

Three-Star Raids:

• Lapras
• Aerodactyl
• Hisuian Braviary
• Wyrdeer

Featured Pokémon Hatching from Eggs

The event will feature Rockruff hatching from 2KM and 7KM eggs, which will have a chance to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc.

Research and More

The Lustrous Odyssey event will also include Field Research and Special Research related to featured Pokémon.

Field Research tasks will lead to encounters with Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Sneasel, and Rockruff.

Part two of the Special Research Story for Timeless Travels will also be available during the event. Rewards for the Special Research include items, XP, Stardust, and encounters with Rockruff.
