Unlocking Special Coaches in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk
After completing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, you'll discover a new feature that allows you to request Special Coaches to join the Blueberry Academy. However, these coaches don't become available right away, and you'll need to put in some effort to unlock them. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of unlocking more Special Coaches and explain the rewards that come with them.
What are Special Coaches, and how do you unlock them?
Special Coaches can be invited to teach at the Blueberry Academy, offering unique rewards and experiences. To unlock more Special Coaches, you'll need to:
- Invite available Special Coaches to the Blueberry Academy at least three times
- Build friendships with them through battles, trades, and conversations
- Return to Paldea to speak with teachers in their classrooms, who may become Special Coaches
Keep in mind that inviting Special Coaches comes with a cost of 200 BP each time, so you'll need to consistently grind out BP to unlock more coaches.
What is the Gold Border around Special Coaches?
The Gold Border signifies that you've begun to befriend a Special Coach. This typically happens after the third visit, allowing you to unlock more special memories with that character. These memories include unique items and trades, such as a Partner Ribbon on a Pokémon. Note that these Pokémon cannot be shiny in The Indigo Disk.
Benefits of unlocking Special Coaches
Unlocking more Special Coaches offers several benefits, including:
- Unique rewards, such as Herba Mystica
- Opportunities to battle and trade with Special Coaches
- Access to special memories and trades with each coach
By following these steps and dedicating time to building friendships with Special Coaches, you can expand your roster and unlock exclusive rewards in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk.
Remember to consistently grind out BP and build friendships with Special Coaches to unlock more rewards and experiences in the game.Related: How to Find All Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk
