Stardew Valley: Completing The Pirate's Wife Quest on Ginger Island
Explore the unique world of Ginger Island in Stardew Valley, where you can find exotic crops like pineapples, mangos, and bananas, as well as bring back new livestock to your farm. One of the quests you'll encounter on the island is The Pirate's Wife, which requires you to help an old woman named Birdie find a keepsake that belonged to her husband.
Getting to Ginger Island in Stardew Valley
Before you can start The Pirate's Wife quest, you'll need to access Ginger Island. To do this, you'll need to complete the community center, which can take some time. Once you've finished this task, you'll unlock Ginger Island.
On the island, you'll need to give a parrot 10 golden walnuts to unlock the west side of the island. You can find Birdie, an old woman fishing by a small island hut, on the west side. Talk to her to start The Pirate's Wife quest.
The Pirate's Wife Quest in Stardew Valley
Before you can reach the west side of the island, you'll need to provide the parrot with 10 golden walnuts. The best way to find these walnuts is to grind through the volcano, destroying metal cases and monster spawns in the dungeon. There are only 10 levels in the volcano, so it won't take long.
Once you reach the west side of the island, speak to Birdie, and she'll tell you about her husband, a former pirate who shipwrecked years ago. She's been searching for keepsakes from his broken ship and needs your help to find more. To complete this quest, you'll need to trade with villagers in Stardew Valley.
Trading with Villagers to Complete the Quest
Return to Pelican Town with the item War Memento, which Birdie gave you. You'll need to speak to villagers in a specific order to receive the items you need to complete the quest. Here's the order you should follow:
- Visit Kent to give him the War Memento and receive Gourmet Tomato Salt
- Visit Gus to give him Gourmet Tomato Salt and receive a Stardew Valley Rose
- Visit Sandy to give her the Stardew Valley Rose and receive an Advanced TV Remote
- Visit George to give him the Advanced TV Remote and receive the Arctic Shard
- Visit the Wizard to give him the Arctic Shard and receive a Wiggling Worm
- Visit Willy to give him the Wiggling Worm and receive a Pirate's Locket
Once you have the Pirate's Locket, return to Ginger Island and speak to Birdie. A cutscene will follow, and Birdie will teach you the Fairy Dust recipe, giving you five golden walnuts.
