Becoming Best Buddies with Jack Skellington in Disney Dreamlight Valley

As one of the coolest characters to join the Valley, Jack is definitely worth impressing. However, his second Friendship Quest can be a bit tricky. But don't worry, we'll break down every step to help you become best buddies with the Pumpkin King.

Step 1: Finding Jack in the Vitalys Mines

To start, enter the Vitalys Mines and head down the railroad track until you reach the end. Take a left and look for a rock with potion drawings on it. Inside, you'll find Jack in his makeshift lab. Speak with him, and he'll ask you to create a Scientific Kit.

Step 2: Crafting a Scientific Kit

To craft a Scientific Kit, you'll need the following ingredients:

• 12x Softwood (found in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust, or purchased from Kristoff's Stall)
• 8x Coal Ore (mined from Rock Spots or purchased from Kristoff's Stall)
• 4x Empty Vial (crafted with 3x Glass, which can be refined from sand and Coal ore or purchased from Kristoff)
• 3x Fabric (crafted with 3x Cotton, found in Cotton seeds from Goofy's Stall at the Sunlit Plateau)
• 3x Iron Ingots (crafted with 5x Iron ore and 1x Coal)

Once you've gathered all the ingredients, head to the nearest crafting station and create the Scientific Kit for Jack.

Step 3: Getting Night Shards

The next step is to get 3 Night Shards, which can be crafted by refining 3x Onyx or dug up from Sparkling Mounds anywhere on the map. We recommend digging for Night Shards, as finding 9 Onyx can be time-consuming.

Step 4: Finding Potions in Merlin's House

After speaking with Merlin, it's time to find four potions inside his Library:

• Yellow Potion: on the shelf to the door's left
• Green Potion: on the potion shelf next to the window on the left wall
• Blue Potion: on top of the desk in front of the door
• Purple Potion: lying on the floor next to a bookshelf to the door's right

Now that you've found all the potions, head back to Jack.

Step 5: Placing the Right Potion on the Night Thorn

To avoid confusion, you'll want to place the Yellow Potion on the Night Thorn in the Vitalys mines. The Night Thorn is a big purple thorn outside Jack's lab. The correct potion is the Yellow Potion because it makes forgotten memories spring forth. All the other potions serve other purposes.
