Rescue Orin's Victim in Baldur's Gate 3: A Comprehensive Guide

As you progress through the world of Baldur's Gate 3, you'll eventually face off against two major antagonists: Gortash and Orin. These characters work closely with the Elder Brain, a powerful entity that poses a significant threat to your quest.

The Quest Starts: Get Orin's Netherstone

You'll receive this quest immediately after visiting Wyrm's Rock Fortress for the first time. However, you'll need to take a long rest before the quest is triggered. Alternatively, you can start this quest by exploring the sewers. Essentially, one of your companions will be kidnapped by Orin, setting you on a mission to rescue them.Keep in mind that the start of this quest will play out differently depending on your party composition. Saving Orin's Victim: Two Possible Paths

You can approach this situation in two ways:

Comply with Orin's Demand: Eliminate Gortash, which might be your goal regardless of your character type or playstyle. To do this, you'll need to remove the Steel Watch and then track down Gortash.
Investigate the Murders in Baldur's Gate: Listen to Gortash and investigate the murders in the city. After defeating the Murder Tribunal, you'll learn about the entrance to the Bhaal temple underneath the city.

Exploring the Sewers and Finding the Temple of Bhaal

You can find several manholes leading to the sewer in Baldur's Gate, but each one takes you to a different part of the Undercity. One of the best manholes to use is the one located near the Baldur's Gate Waystone in the north part of the Lower City.As you navigate through the sewers, you'll eventually find the Temple of Bhaal. To access the temple, you'll need an Amulet of Bhaal to bypass a door and prove your allegiance to the god of Baldur's Gate.

Facing Off Against Orin

When you enter the temple, you'll find Orin waiting for you, with your companion on an altar. Depending on your choices, Orin may free your companion or attempt to kill them. In this scenario, you can persuade her from harming your companion with a proper skill check.Regardless of your choice, you'll eventually have to face off against Orin in a challenging battle.

Fighting Orin: Tips and Strategies

When fighting Orin, keep the following tips in mind:* Focus on her minions first: Take out her two minions to expose Orin and make her easier to take down.* Use area of effect attacks: Use abilities that can hit multiple targets to take out Orin's minions quickly.* Save for Orin's Unstoppable Form: When Orin transforms into her proper form, she becomes partially unstoppable. Save your most powerful abilities for this phase and focus on doing as much damage as possible.After defeating Orin, you can free your companion and explore the rest of the temple. You'll also acquire Orin's Netherstone, a valuable reward for completing this challenging quest.
