All New Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC
With the release of the Indigo Disk DLC in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, many players are excited to dive into new storylines, explore new regions, and of course, catch some new Pokémon. But for some, the real excitement lies in the possibility of finding those elusive Shiny Pokémon. In this article, we'll take a look at all the new Shiny Pokémon forms introduced in the Indigo Disk DLC.
How Many New Shiny Pokémon Are in the Indigo Disk DLC?
While there aren't too many new Pokémon in the Indigo Disk DLC – a total of eight, excluding the three forms of Terapagos – Shiny hunters will be happy to know that this adds up to 16 new Shiny forms (none of which are Shiny locked). Below, we'll showcase all the new Shiny Pokémon forms in the Indigo Disk DLC.
SPOILER ALERT: Beyond this point, you will see Pokémon that were not revealed in any trailers or news posts. Please scroll at your own risk.
All Indigo Disk Shiny Pokémon Forms
Here's a list of all eight new Pokémon and their Shiny Variants introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC:
- Archaludon
- Hydrapple
- Gouging Fire
- Raging Bolt
- Iron Boulder
- Iron Crown
- Terapagos (Normal Form)
- Terapagos (Terastal Form)
- Pecharunt
What Makes These Shiny Forms So Special?
What sets the Indigo Disk DLC apart from previous releases is the quality of the new Shiny forms. Unlike some previous Pokémon games, where Shiny forms can be lackluster, the Indigo Disk DLC shines (pun intended) with its new Shiny forms. The two Legendary Pokémon, Terapagos and Pecharunt, have outstanding Shiny forms, which is a rare occurrence for Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
The Catch: Shiny-Locked Legendary Pokémon
Unfortunately, all of the new Pokémon except for Archaludon and Hydrapple are Shiny-locked, meaning you won't be able to acquire their Shiny form through legitimate means. This is a common practice for Legendary and Mythical Pokémon in the 3D-era of Pokémon games. However, GameFreak sometimes makes Shiny Mythical and Legendary Pokémon available through special events. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a Shiny Terapagos event in the future!
