WoW Classic: Season of Discovery - A Guide to Rune Engraving
The Season of Discovery has arrived in WoW Classic, bringing with it a brand new system that allows for more class options and flexibility - Rune Engraving. This feature enables players to add new powers to their armor, giving them access to new spells and passive abilities that can change the way they play the game.
Rune Engraving is separate from the talent system, so players can experiment with different rune combinations to find the playstyle that suits them best. With 18 runes available for each class, and more to come in future updates, the possibilities are endless.
How to Unlock Rune Engraving
To access the Rune Engraving system, players must reach level 2 and complete a quest from their class trainer. This quest requires players to complete a specific task, such as killing a certain number of enemies or collecting a specific item.
For example, if you're playing an Orc Hunter, you'll need to kill a Scorpid Worker to obtain the Chimera Shot Rune. Once you have the rune, you can apply it to your character by right-clicking on it in your bag.
Requirements and Restrictions
To equip runes, players must be at least level 2. In the current phase of Season of Discovery, players can equip five runes on their hands, legs, boots, belt, and chest armor.
Runes can be switched out at any time, but players must open their character info screen (default key C) and navigate to the Rune Engraving menu to do so. From there, they can select the rune they want to equip and apply it to the corresponding armor piece.
