Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Indigo Disk DLC - Terapagos and the Stellar Tera Type Revealed

The Pokémon Company has finally released the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and with it comes a wealth of new content, including the legendary Pokémon, Terapagos, and a new Tera Type, the Stellar Tera Type. In this article, we'll dive into the details of Terapagos and the Stellar Tera Type, including their forms, abilities, and where to find them in the game.

Terapagos: The Legendary Pokémon

Terapagos is a new legendary Pokémon that can be found in the Indigo Disk DLC. It has three distinct forms: a Normal Form, a Terastal Form, and a Stellar Form. Each form has its own unique appearance, abilities, and base stats.

Terapagos' Forms and Abilities

In its Normal Form, Terapagos is a small, cute turtle with large, innocent eyes. It has the Tera Shift ability, which allows it to transform into its Terastal Form when entering battle.

In its Terastal Form, Terapagos takes on a floating, hairy sea turtle appearance with a crystalline jewel-like shell. It has the Tera Shell ability, which reduces the damage taken from moves that hit Terapagos while its HP is full.

In its Stellar Form, Terapagos is its most powerful form, with a glowing half-shell that grants it immunity to all weather and terrain effects. It also has the Teraform Zero ability, which allows it to use the Stellar Tera Type to boost its moves.

Terapagos' Base Stats

Here are the base stats for each of Terapagos' forms:

Where to Find Terapagos

Players can find Terapagos in the latter half of the Indigo Disk DLC, specifically in the Great Crater of Paldea. However, before reaching this point in the story, players must defeat the BB Elite Four and its champion, Kieran. After completing this task, Briar will ask the player to join her on an expedition to Area Zero, where they will encounter Terapagos.

The Stellar Tera Type

The Stellar Tera Type is a new Tera Type that can be used by certain Pokémon. When a Pokémon with the Stellar Tera Type is Terastallized, it gains a 20% boost to each of its moves, in addition to any STAB that may be included. However, the boost can only be used once per type, unless the player is participating in a Raid Battle.

Where to Find Pokémon with the Stellar Tera Type

Pokémon with the Stellar Tera Type can be found in the Blueberry Academy Terrarium, but only after the player has returned from Area Zero with Briar. These Pokémon will have a rainbow glitter surrounding them, making them easy to spot. Players can also identify them by the glowing circle of gems around the Pokémon, similar to Terapagos' Stellar form.

To catch these Pokémon, players must battle them until they are weak enough to return to their usual form, at which point they can be caught like any other wild Pokémon.
