Mastering the Art of Ranking Up in The First Descendant
Ranking up in The First Descendant is just as crucial as leveling up your Descendant. Without higher Mastery levels, you'll find it challenging to take down tough enemies, and your character will die easily. In this guide, we'll explore how to get Mastery XP and rank up in the game.
How to Rank Up Mastery
Mastery Rank is achieved through a combination of playing main or side missions, raising a gun's proficiency, or leveling up your Descendant. All of these factors contribute to earning Mastery XP, which is essential for ranking up your character. You can track your Mastery Rank below your Descendant level in the 'Inventory' menu screen.
As you accumulate more XP, the Mastery bar will fill, and once it's full, you'll see a 'Rank Up Available' message over the XP bar. This indicates that your Descendant is now ready to rank up to the Mastery level.
To rank up, you'll need to go back to Albion and interact with the Prime Hands activation terminal. What to Do After the 'Mastery Rank Up Available' Message?
When you see the 'Rank Up Available' message, don't try to rank up from the character inventory. Instead, head back to Albion and visit the Arche Factor Manipulator on the East side. You'll find a hand-print icon on the Albion map, leading you to a giant mechanized hand beside the activation terminal.
Interact with the Prime Hands activation terminal, and a shortcut scene will play, followed by a brief animation that strengthens your Descendant as they rank up to the Mastery level.
Why Mastery Ranks Are Important
Mastery Ranks offer several benefits for your character's gear, including:
- Increased Descendant Module capacity and slots
- More Weapon Module capacity and slots
- Additional Equipment inventory slots
- Expanded Consumable Inventory slots
- Shape Stabilizer inventory limit slots
