Mastering Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Camera: A Comprehensive Guide
As you embark on your adventure in the vast Paldea region of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you'll undoubtedly want to capture the memories of your journey. Luckily, the game comes equipped with a handy camera app that lets you snap photos of your favorite moments, from group shots with friends to action-packed battle scenes.
Getting Started with the Camera App
Early in the game, you'll receive your trusty Rotom Phone from your mom, complete with a built-in camera. This nifty device allows you to take photos of yourself, your partner Pokémon, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Paldea region.
Accessing the Camera App
To use the camera, simply press Down on the D-pad, and the camera app will spring to life. By default, the camera is set to first-person mode, allowing you to snap photos of the world around you.
Want to capture a selfie with your favorite Pokémon? Press the Y Button, and the camera will flip around to include your character in the shot. Use the Left Stick to frame your photo and get the perfect angle.
Adding a Touch of Personality with Filters and Poses
Give your photos a unique twist with the camera's built-in filters and poses.Choose from a range of filters, including blur, retro, and fish-eye lens, to add some extra flair to your photos. You can also make your character pose and emote by pressing Up on the D-pad while in selfie mode. Options include the peace hand gesture, a wave, and more.
If you want to take a picture at an angle, press the L and R Triggers. To reset the camera to its default settings, simply press the Right Stick.

Once you're happy with your camera settings, press the A button to hide the guide on the left side of the screen. To take the photo, press the small black square button at the bottom of the left Joy-Con (screenshot button).
