Unlocking the Secrets of the Gerudo Sanctuary in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
If you're on a quest to explore the Gerudo Sanctuary in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you're in the right place. This underground cave, located beneath the North Gerudo Ruins in the Gerudo Highlands Region, plays a crucial role in two exciting adventures. In this article, we'll guide you through everything you need to know to navigate the Gerudo Sanctuary with ease.
The Journey Begins
The Gerudo Sanctuary is a hidden underground cave that can be accessed through two different entrances. The North and South entrances lead to distinct locations within the sanctuary, and each task requires a specific entrance. You may have been sent to the Gerudo Sanctuary by Rotana or Koltin, and we'll cover the steps for both quests below.
Preparing for the Gerudo Sanctuary
Before you venture into the Gerudo Sanctuary, it's essential to be prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. You'll encounter various enemies, including Electric Chuchus, Gibdos, and Black Lizalfos. Here's what you need to know about each:
- Electric Chuchus: These slow-moving creatures can be defeated with one hit, but be sure to use a ranged weapon to avoid their explosive attacks. Defeating them will reward you with Yellow Chuchu Jelly, which has various uses.
- Gibdos: These eerie creatures can be difficult to defeat, but using a Fire Fruit or Shock Fruit will make them more susceptible to your attacks.
- Black Lizalfos: These creatures will attack in teams, so it's best to separate them and take them on one by one. While they don't have any particular weaknesses, they do need time to recover between attacks.
As you navigate the Gerudo Sanctuary, keep an eye out for valuable resources such as Amber, Bomb Flowers, Brightbloom Seeds, Flint, and Glowing Cave Fish.
Locating the Gerudo Sanctuary
The Gerudo Sanctuary is situated in the North Gerudo Ruins, which can be found in the Gerudo Highlands Region. To access the ruins, head west of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. Within the ruins, you'll find two entrances to the sanctuary: the North and South entrances. These entrances are formed by displaced blocks that lead underground, and each entrance leads to a different location within the sanctuary.
Following Koltin's Quest
If Koltin has sent you to the Gerudo Sanctuary, head to the South entrance. This entrance is more subtle and can be easily missed, so keep your eyes peeled for a missing stone in the ground that serves as an entrance to the pit. Once you've jumped down, you'll find a Bubbulfrog waiting for you. Defeat the Bubbulfrog and collect its snowflake-shaped Bubbul Gem, which Koltin needs to transform into a Satori.
Following Rotana's Quest
If Rotana has sent you to the Gerudo Sanctuary, head to the North entrance. This entrance is more prominent and can be easily spotted by the large pile of displaced blocks surrounding the pit. However, you'll need to complete the Heroines' Secret quest and obtain the eighth orb to access the Northern part of the sanctuary.
Once you've passed the gate, you'll encounter various items to loot and a statue of the Eighth Heroine, along with a tablet to read. Return to Rotana and share your discovery to receive a diamond reward for completing The Mysterious Eighth side quest.
By following these steps, you'll be well on your way to unlocking the secrets of the Gerudo Sanctuary and completing the exciting quests within The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
