Lethal Company players, beware: Bracken is one of the toughest enemies you'll face in the game. With its stealthy movements and no immediate counters, understanding how to handle Bracken is crucial to success. The good news is that you'll only encounter one Bracken per moon, and with the right knowledge, you can control it to a certain degree.

Understanding Bracken's Behavior

Bracken is most commonly found on moons like Vow and March. You'll know it's nearby when you hear its unique crunching/chirping sound. It may look like Bracken teleports, but it actually walks a path throughout the facility, jumping gaps and following you around like a normal player.

If you encounter a Bracken, keep these essential tips in mind:

• Be brief: Only glance at the Bracken for a moment before moving away. If you stare for too long, it'll attack you.
• Don't attack: Attacking a Bracken is a recipe for disaster, especially when alone. A provoked Bracken will keep killing until everyone in sight is dead.
• Don't approach: Cornering or walking towards a Bracken will provoke it to attack and may lead to a party wipe. Give it a quick glance and walk away, periodically checking behind you.
• Keep moving: Bracken is more likely to attack if you stop moving for too long. Keep moving and check behind you periodically to avoid becoming a target.
• Watch the clock: Bracken will grow impatient if it chases you for too long. Make your time in the facility brief, or you might become its next victim.
• Don't walk backward: Walking backward into a Bracken is a surefire way to become its next target. Check behind you before walking backward, even if you just scared it off.

Reteriving Bodies from Bracken

If a Bracken takes out you or a party member, it'll drag the body to a specific room with carpet and wooden walls, often resembling an office. This room can spawn anywhere in the facility, even near the entrance. If you find the room, be aware that a Bracken is lurking nearby.

To retrieve a lost party member, you can either teleport them from the facility to the ship or chase down the Bracken if you're low on funds.

Killing Bracken

Contrary to popular belief, Bracken is killable with the right strategies and resources. Here are a few methods to take down a Bracken with friends:

• Most solutions involve a shotgun: If the first shot doesn't work, the second one will. Use hallways or screen sides to bait the Bracken and take it down.
• Zap Gun (for when a real one is not available): Combine a Zap Gun with a Shovel to immobilize and kill the Bracken. A Bracken can take four hits before it turns to dust.
• Sacrifice for the Company: If you're not playing solo, you can sacrifice a player to take down the Bracken by stepping on a landmine while it's chasing you. The blast will kill anything caught in its radius.
