How to Start the Winter Night Quest in Destiny 2

To start the Winter Night quest, players must first complete the initial quest for Eva Levante, which grants them the Holiday Oven and access to Event Challenges. Then, all you need to do is launch the game and wait. The Winter Night quest should appear as a new Milestone, allowing you to begin the event.

Note that the Winter Night quest may not have been live at launch. If you're struggling to find it, simply play more Destiny 2 and wait for it to pop up.

How to Complete the Winter Night Quest in Destiny 2

To complete the Winter Night quest, speak with Eva Levante and receive the quest from her inventory. If she doesn't hand it to you immediately, reload into the Tower and try again. The Winter Night quest requires you to:

• Defeat 75 combatants with standard Long Winter Snowball final blows.
• Defeat 5 combatants with upgraded Stay Frosty Snowball final blows.
• Deliver a Classic Butter Cookie to Eva.

Step 1: Snowball Fights

The first two steps require you to defeat enemies with standard and upgraded Snowball final blows. You can find Snowballs by defeating enemies with any weapon in any activity. They're a random drop, so be sure to keep an eye out.

For an efficient way to rack up Snowball kills, try the Terminal Overload activity in Neomuna. It spawns numerous Shadow Legion Cabal and Vex throughout its three rounds, making it an excellent spot for Snowball kills.

How to Get an Upgraded Snowball in Destiny 2

To unlock enhanced Snowball kills, you need to acquire either the Long Winter or Stay Frosty upgrades from Eva. These upgrades extend the duration of Snowball Slow effects and cause them to drop Stasis mines.

To get Upgraded Snowballs, earn Dawning Spirit and purchase an upgrade from Eva Levante for 20 Dawning Spirit. We recommend completing activities and Event Challenges to build up standard Snowball final blows first. Then, when you have enough Dawning Spirit, purchase the upgrade to power through the quest quickly.

Step 2: Delivering a Classic Butter Cookie to Eva

The Classic Butter Cookie is baked in Eva Levante's Holiday Oven using 15 Dawning Spirit, one Taken Butter, and one Superb Texture. Deliver it to Eva Levante to complete this step.

Winter Night Quest Reward

After completing the Winter Night quest, Eva will reward you with your Dawning Memento. Head to the Enclave, choose to Shape or Reshape a weapon, and insert the Memento into its designated slot to complete the process. Level up the weapon to 30 by defeating enemies or spending resources to unlock the shader.

Earn more Dawning Mementos randomly by opening Gifts in Return, acquired by giving cookies to NPCs.
