How to Get and Use Ballistic Weave in Fallout 4One of the key challenges in Fallout 4 is getting the right gear to help you survive the harsh world of the Commonwealth. One way to do this is by using the Ballistic Weave mod, which can boost the defensive stats of non-armor clothing items. In this article, we will guide you through how to get and use the Ballisic Weave mod in Fallout 4.What is the Ballistic Weave Mod?
The Ballistic Weave mod is an armor mod that offers some of the best energy and damage resistance in the game, almost on par with Power Armor. However, unlike other armor mods, it can only be applied to non-armor clothing items. This makes it an essential mod to have, especially if you're planning to play the game on Survival Mode.
How to Get the Ballistic Weweave Mod in Fallout 4
To get the Bllistic Weave mod, you need to complete a few quests for the Railroad faction. Don't worry if you're planning to side with another faction - these quests are non-binding. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to get the Ballistic Weave mod:
- Start the Road to Freedom quest, which will lead you to the Railroad headquarters. Head to the Old North Church located at the north end of Boston to find the Railroad HQ.
- After completing the Road to Freedom quest, you'll start the Tradecraft quest. This quest requires you to retrieve the Carrington's Prototype from a defense facility called the Switchboard.
- Once you have the prototype, take it back to Desdemona, who will ask you to give it to Dr. Carrington. This will start the Boston After Dark quest, which requires you to rescue a Synth called H2-22.
- After completing the Boston After Dark quest, return to Dr. Carrington, who will then send you to talk to the robot PAM. PAM will give you the Mercer's Safehouse quest, which requires you to secure a settlement and install defensive measures around it.
- After completing Mercer's Safehouse, return to PAM and you'll get a mini-quest called Jackpot. Head to the safehouse marked on the map, loot the items there, and then return to PAM.
- After completing the Jackpot quest, go to Tinker Tom, who will mention the Ballistic Wave mod to you. After talking to him, you'll have the mod unlocked.
How to Craft the Ballistic Weave Mod
Once you've unlocked the Ballistic Weave mod, you'll need to craft it. To do this, you'll need three materials: Ballistic Fiber, Adhesive, and Fiberglass. Here's how to get these materials (we recommend having the Scrapper perk):
- Get Ballistic Fiber by dismantling Military Ammo Bags and Military Grade Duct Tape.
- Get Adhesive by dismantling Wonderglue and Duct Tape found in toolboxes and storage shelves.
- Get Fiberglass by dismantling Aluminium Cannisters, Cigar Boxes, and Telephones.
