Dungeonborne Beginner's Guide: Tips and Tricks for Survival

Dungeonborne is a dark fantasy multiplayer game that combines PvPvE elements with intense dungeon crawling. To succeed in this challenging world, you'll need to master various mechanics and strategies. In this beginner's guide, we'll cover the essential tips and tricks to help you get started.

Choosing the Right Class and Leveling Up Stats

Dungeonborne has 8 classes to choose from, each with its unique strengths and weaknesses. Select a class that suits your playstyle, such as Rogue for stealth or Pyromancer for casting fire blasts. Understand the active and passive skills associated with each class, as you'll need to invest in your stats strategically to unlock different abilities.

Don't worry about making a mistake; you can always try a different class. To learn more about each class and their tier list, you can check out our dedicated guide.

Interacting with Other Players in Dungeons

Dungeonborne features PvPvE gameplay, which means you'll encounter other players in the dungeons. While it's not necessary to kill them to win, you might need to team up with other players to tackle tough enemies. To signal a team-up, equip a torch or any non-weapon item.

Be cautious, as other players can still betray you or attack you at any moment. Initially, focus on extracting items to build your Gear Score, and then engage in high-stakes PvP when you're confident. Be warned: losing a battle means losing your gear.

Choosing the Right Dungeon

There are two main maps in Dungeonborne: Clouseau Castle and Sinner's End. Start with Clouseau Castle on Casual mode and progress to Sinner's End on Classic Mode as you gain experience. You'll need at least a Level 6 Gear Score to tackle Classic mode in Clouseau Castle and a Level 9 Gear Score for Sinner's End Classic Mode.

A Challenger Mode is also available, which will match you up with duos or trios even if you're solo or in a group. The loot quality and quantity will scale depending on the difficulty of the maps.

Crafting Consumables for Battle

Through Alchemist, you can craft different potions to boost your survival chances in the dungeons. These potions are classified into three categories: restorative potions, offensive elixirs, and defensive elixirs.

Stock up on specific consumables that align with your class. For example, craft healing or mana potions to restore your HP or MP, respectively. Experiment with different consumables to find what works best for your playstyle.

Mastering Combat

Each class has unique skills and weapon combos. Learn when to strike, defend, and position yourself in combat. When targeting enemies, focus on their heads for maximum damage. Some classes even have increased critical strike chances when targeting the head.

Keep moving to avoid getting hit, and learn your attack patterns to survive combat encounters. Blocking can reduce incoming damage, but dodging attacks is a more effective way to survive. Mastering combat will help you secure victories over enemies.

Mastering the Core Gameplay Loop

Dungeonborne's core gameplay loop involves looting, extracting items, using extracted items, selling unwanted items for gold, improving your stats, and repeating the process.

Dying and losing loot is part of the game. Learn from your mistakes and improve in your next run. Looting is a major aspect of progression, but don't feel obligated to explore every nook and cranny. Extract items when you've accumulated a good amount, and bank them to avoid losing them.

Additional Tips

Remember, Dungeonborne is all about progression and learning from your mistakes. Don't get discouraged by setbacks – use them as opportunities to improve and get stronger.
