Diablo 4 Season of the Construct: Governing Stones Tier List
Diablo 4's Season of the Construct has brought new seasonal mechanics, with Seneschal Companions being one of the biggest additions. These robot allies can aid you in battle, but their abilities are determined by Governing Stones. In this article, we'll rank each Governing Stone from best to worst, so you can get the most out of your new companion.
How to Choose the Best Governing Stones
Keep in mind that this list is a suggestion and not gospel. Different playstyles and classes can make use of different stones effectively. This list should serve as a good indicator of some of the better options available.
S Tier: The Best Governing Stones
These stones are considered the best options, with their abilities outshining the rest. They should be your top priority when choosing Governing Stones.
Tempest
- This stone allows your companion to fire an electric charge into enemies, dealing damage every second and increasing over time. With scaling potential and the ability to spread to multiple enemies, this stone is hard to beat.Gyrate
- This stone sees your companion spinning and whirling its legs to attack surrounding enemies. With a short cooldown and potential for damage and buff uptime, Gyrate is a solid option for most content.Pummel
- This move allows your companion to quickly attack a single enemy for moderate damage. With the quickest cooldown and potential for DoT and buff uptime, Pummel earns its spot in the top tiers of Governing Stones.Flash of Adrenaline
- This stone grants your character a significant increase to their damage for eight seconds. When used with Duration and Tactical Tuning Stones, this can become a more permanent buff, making you more deadly.
A Tier: Strong but Not the Best
These stones are still strong options but lack the versatility and damage potential of the S Tier stones.
Focus Fire
- This attack sees your Construct channel a fire ray into enemies, bouncing between a few for damage over time. While effective, it falls short of the top tier due to its limitations.Bushwack
- This stone works similarly to Pummel, with an ambush attack that can hit two enemies or a single enemy multiple times. However, its damage is slightly weaker, preventing it from reaching the top spots.Protect
- This stone provides you with a protective Barrier equal to a portion of your maximum health, making it a top defensive option. Coupled with Duration and Tactical, this effect can take hold more often and become a powerful tool.Lightning Bolt
- This attack sees your companion launch a lightning bolt at an enemy and jump to another for some of the damage. While effective, it lacks the spreading and scaling potential of Tempest, making it a less desirable option.
B Tier: Middle-of-the-Road Options
These stones are average options that may not offer the same level of damage or utility as the top-tier stones.
Firefly
- This stone sees your Construct deploy a smaller Construct that lands on an enemy and explodes three times, dealing damage with each explosion. While viable, it lacks the consistency of other top-tier options.Impale
- This stone shares a similar cooldown to Pummel, but its attack is directed in a straight line and may not have the same chance to hit multiple enemies as others on this list.
C Tier: Less Desirable Options
These stones are less desirable options that may not offer much benefit or utility.
Reconstruct
- This stone channels a healing beam into the player, healing them for a portion of their health over time. However, compared to Protect's defensive capabilities and the inherent abilities of classes, this doesn't offer much benefit.Autodefense
- This stone's anti-projectile field has limitations, including a long cooldown, limited effectiveness, and positioning issues. Making it harder to justify picking it over other options.
Remember: This list is subject to change and may be influenced by future updates and patches. Keep an eye on updates and adjust your strategy accordingly.
